Victory for Quatro Ambassadors at The 35th FIG Trampoline Gymnastics World Championships
From the 18th to the 21st of November, Baku, Azerbaijan saw power tumblers, trampolinists and DMT gymnasts from around the world gather to challenge one another for World Championship titles. Like the Olympics, the World Championships is the pinnacle of gymnastics, where the best of the best go head-to-head, showcasing powerful skills and breathtaking routines. Quatro ambassadors, Megan Kealy and Bryony Page, were amongst the gymnasts competing at this event so anticipation was high entering into the qualifying rounds.
Megan Kealy was the first of our ambassadors to perform in the tumbling event of the championships. Prior to the competition last week, she had been building her experience and skill development with solid performances. In 2019, she won an individual bronze and team gold at the 34th World Championships. Although her main aim was to hit her routines, we were certain that the gold medal was attainable for her especially after she qualified for finals in second place. Determination, passion and commitment always pays off. Meg attained the Individual Gold medal with a powerful and stylish performance. One whole mark above the rest, she scored 67.800 points between her two tumble passes to win the title of Tumbling World Champion.
It was two-time Olympic medallist Bryony Page’s turn to compete in the Trampolining World finals the following day. Showing composure, elegance, determination and pure talent, she secured a well-deserved Individual Gold medal. With a score of 56.235 and the hardest difficulty routine, she topped the rankings and became the 2021 World Trampoline Champion, a first for her in the individual event. She also took the bronze medal in the synchro event, together with her partner Louise Brownsey. After a Silver and a Bronze at the last two Olympic Games, Bryony's international collection is now complete.
The 35th FIG World Championships was a fantastic weekend for our Quatro ambassadors. We now boast two World Champions, who are role models for our aspiring young gymnasts. We are so proud of Meg and Bryony for their world-class performances. After a very difficult two years of training constraints due to Covid restrictions, these performances were very inspiring. Quatro is on top of the world thanks to their efforts. We applaud you girls.
